607 - REFUGEE HOUSE DESIGN
My design intention for the 607 refugee house plan was to create a home designed around the idea of an open concept. I portrayed this concept through designing the kitchen, living room and dining room in an open style while keeping the rooms as the separated and personal areas. This allows for interaction only when users feel like it and creates a home which isn’t crowded, unlike the Mathew house we visited. These three spaces allow for free-flowing air circulation and convenient communication between people in the home. The home was designed with the intent to be universal. Accessibility was a key focus and therefore I created a home with all levels being accessible to users for future refinement. To conclude, this home was purely designed to accommodate refugees in the friendliest manner as well as giving them a chance to separate and keep to themselves if needed.
